The Red Bull Air Race what is it?

Do you want to experience strong emotions while attending a dazzling show? This will take place in Cannes from 20 to 22 April.

In front of your eyes, the world's best aerobatic pilots will battle each other in the sky above the bay of Cannes. Up to more than 370 km/h between 25-metre high air-filled towers, they are subjected to forces of up to 10 G (10 times the body weight).

The Red Bull Air Race is a very demanding competition for pilots, combining precision, speed and risk management.

French pilots involved in Red Bull Air Race 2018 in Master Class and Challenge Cup.

The Red Bull Air Race races are divided into two categories, the Master Class for the elite and the Challenge Cup, a sort of second division bringing together the future aerobatics champions.

Three French drivers are at the start of the premier class, dominated last year by Japanese rider Yoshihide Muroya. They are Mikael Brageot, Nicolas Ivanoff and François Le Vot.

Two other French drivers are racing in the Challenge Cup, Baptiste Vignes and Mélanie Astles, the first woman to enter the circuit in 2016 and who won the last race of the 2017 season in Indianapolis last October.

Organized by Red Bull, this air race is sponsored by the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale.
